Refund policy

How refunds work on Exhibitio, and exactly what happens to each fee when one is issued.

1. Who issues your refund

When you buy a ticket, booth, or sponsorship on Exhibitio, you are buying from the event organizer, not from Exhibitio. The organizer is the merchant of record and the money settles into the organizer's own Stripe account. The organizer sets the refund terms for their event and issues refunds. Exhibitio provides the tool that runs the refund; we do not decide whether one is granted.

If you want a refund, contact the organizer of the event you bought from. If you cannot reach them, contact us and we will help you get in touch.

2. How a refund is processed

A refund on Exhibitio is a single, immediate Stripe refund against the original payment. It can be for the full amount or for part of it. The refunded money is returned to the original payment method by Stripe, on Stripe's normal schedule.

3. What happens to the Exhibitio fee

Exhibitio charges the organizer a flat fee at the time of each sale: $0.99 per paid ticket, $15 per booth, and $25 per sponsorship. A free ticket carries no fee. You can see the full schedule on our pricing page.

On a full refund, Exhibitio's flat fee is refunded to the organizer too, so a fully refunded sale costs the organizer nothing.

On a partial refund, Exhibitio's flat fee is retained, because the sale still happened.

4. Stripe's card processing fee

Stripe charges its own card processing fee on the original payment. Stripe does not return that processing fee when a payment is refunded. That is Stripe's policy, not Exhibitio's, and it is disclosed to the organizer at checkout. Exhibitio does not add any charge of its own for processing a refund.

5. Free tickets

A free ticket never carries a fee, so there is nothing to return on the Exhibitio side if a free registration is canceled.

6. Chargebacks and disputes

Because the organizer is the merchant of record, card disputes and chargebacks are handled between the buyer, the card issuer, and the organizer through Stripe. Exhibitio is not a party to the payment and cannot reverse a dispute on the organizer's behalf.
